Boundary Bridge
For the feelings that come up before, during, and after.
I needed Boundary Bridge for the same reason I needed Boundary Scripts. Because of the people closest to me, and a pattern that wouldn't stop.
But Boundary Bridge is for a different kind of hard.
Before I could even think about setting a boundary, my mind would start. The feelings would come up. Guilt, fear, doubt. I'd use them as reasons not to do it or talk myself out of it before I ever opened my mouth. And then the pattern would repeat, and I'd carry that too.
What I didn't expect was that the good feelings were just as hard. If I felt confident about setting a boundary, my mind would call that selfish. If I felt anxious, it would say that meant I was wrong. It didn't matter what I was actually feeling. My mind knew how to use it against me.
That's the cycle. Good feelings become evidence of selfishness. Bad feelings become evidence that you shouldn't have done it. And either way, you end up in the same place: doubting and second-guessing.
And it's automatic. You don't recognize it happening because it's conditioned. When you're by yourself, with no one helping you see it, you can get lost back into those feelings and it's hard to come back out.
Boundary Bridge exists to interrupt that cycle. To say, whatever you're feeling right now is normal. You're not selfish for protecting yourself or wrong for trying. Setting a boundary is hard, and your feelings about it are also hard.
I use it before, to get through the wall of doubt that makes me want to back down. And I use it after, to remember that feeling complicated about it doesn't mean I made a mistake.
