FAQ
Is Vesta Grove really free? What's the catch?
There is no catch. Vesta Grove is completely free. No trials, no locked rooms, no premium tier, no ads. You get everything. I built this app because I needed it, and charging people who are struggling the same way I was would feel wrong. If the app helps you and you want to support it, there will be a tip jar for that. But if you can't, you still get everything.
Is this a therapy app?
No. Vesta Grove is a personal wellness app, not a medical or clinical tool. It was built from personal experience, not clinical training. It does not replace therapy, counseling, or professional support. If you are in crisis, please reach out to a qualified professional or contact a crisis line. You can call or text 988 anytime.
Does Vesta Grove work offline?
Yes. Once you add it to your home screen, Vesta Grove works offline. You will need brief internet access when updates are available, but updates are automatic and take no extra time.
I can't read the text on the app. Is there a way to fix that?
Yes. Go to the menu under Settings/Toggles and flip on the Accessible Font toggle. This will change the text to Verdana, which is easier to read. You can also try changing the color mode in the same area.
You can also check your zoom settings in your phone's display section. Just be aware that zooming too much can cause the app to look a bit cramped or cut off buttons or features. The app is optimized at about the mid zoom level for most devices.
You don't have to leave a room to change these settings. Just tap the menu button and change them from wherever you are.
I am on iOS. Does this app work with iPhone or iPad?
Yes, it does. Just be aware that iOS can sometimes wipe data if you aren't using the app every now and then. This means you could lose your Quest Companion calendar settings, shopping list, Cabinet of Charms and Woodland Almanac collections, Favorites in other rooms, and other saved preferences.
I have included an easy Backup and Restore system in the app. You can find it in Settings/Toggles in the Menu or in Quest Companion. It's highly recommended to Backup your app at least twice a month.
I don't care for the voice that is used for the Read Aloud button. Can I change it?
Yes, you can. The app hooks up to your device's built-in text-to-speech. Whatever voice your device is using as a default will be the voice you hear in the app. You can change it, but you'll need to find that setting in your specific device's accessibility or speech settings.
The Read Aloud button isn't working. What do I do?
You must toggle on the Read Aloud feature in Settings/Toggles in the menu. It can take a few seconds for it to activate.
Make sure you have your volume turned up on your device too.
The buttons on my app overlap a little bit. What is wrong with it?
Check your device's system settings under Display. You should see an option for Screen Zoom or just Zoom settings. If your zoom is set very high, it can cause buttons to squeeze together and some features or text to require scrolling. Setting the zoom lower will help. The app is optimized at about the middle zoom setting for most devices.
I cleared my browser history and now my app settings and collections are gone. What happened?
Because Vesta Grove stores everything on your device and never sends your data anywhere, clearing your browser history or cache can remove your saved settings, preferences, and collections.
I built an easy Backup and Restore feature into the app for exactly this kind of thing. You can find it in Settings/Toggles in the Menu or in Quest Companion. I recommend backing up at least twice a month. It saves everything: your settings, preferences, Favorites, Quest Companion data, and Cabinet of Charms and Woodland Almanac collections. If anything ever gets wiped, you can restore from your most recent backup and pick up right where you left off.
I have a question or feedback that's not answered here. How can I contact you?
You can contact me through the Contact/Support page. Please be patient for a response. I read and answer all emails myself.
